Do you know how to measure your waist perimeter?

Besides your BMI, the waist (or abdominal) perimeter is another way of measuring your risk for potential health conditions. Excessive abdominal fat can pose serious problems as it increases the risk of developing obesity-related diseases, such as type 2 diabetes, high-blood pressure and heart disease. Pay close attention to your waist size, it may be telling you’re at risk when:

-It exceeds 37 inches, or 96 centimeters (for men).

-It exceeds 33 inches, or 84 centimeters (for non-pregnant women).

Keep in mind that this is only a useful indicator, not a health diagnosis tool or an effective way to measure an individual’s fat content.
To measure your waist perimeter correctly, stand up and place a measuring tape around your waist (above your hip bone). Make sure that the tape is in horizontal position and that it fits closely (it shouldn’t be tight); write your measurement down after exhaling naturally.

Your abdominal perimeter will shrink and your health will improve by following the program that’s right for you. Listen to your advisor, follow his or her advice, and take full advantage of our app’s functionality to start feeling and looking better!
